Prof. Dr. Dr. Ervin Laszlo
Prof. Dr. Dr. Ervin Laszlo, born 1932 in Budapest, Hungary, founder and President of the Club of Budapest, was one of the first representatives in the area of systems philosophy and general theory of evolution. He published more than 70 books translated into as many as 18 languages. In the course of his long academic career as a professor for philosophy, systems philosophy and future sciences, he worked in teaching and research at a variety of reputable universities in the US, Europe, and the Far East.

He works independently in many contexts ranging from mainstream to ‘alternative’, central banking to organic farming. He writes frequently on economic affairs, and has published several books, including Prelude in Economics (1979), Of Wheat and Gold (1988), The Metamorphosis of Capitalism (2003), Rare Albion – a Monetary Allegory (2005) (see Publications) and Finance at the Threshold (Gower, 2011).

Martin Ping is the Executive Director of Hawthorne Valley Association, a nonprofit promoting social and cultural renewal through the integration of education, agriculture, and the arts. Located in NY’s Hudson Valley, the Hawthorne Valley Association includes Hawthorne Valley Farm, a 400-acre biodynamic farm. A holistic approach to sustainable living, biodynamic farming develops the earth, plants, and animals to create a selfnourishing system. Martin balances his time between developing the working relationships amongst the Association’s diverse enterprises — a dairy herd, CSA and market garden, GreenMarket stands, organic bakery and grocery store, visiting students programs, farm ecology program, day school, and more — and cultivating collaborative relationships between Hawthorne Valley and other organizations in the Upper Hudson/Berkshire region.

He served as Founding President of Camphill Soltane in Pennsylvania, President of the Camphill Association of North America and on the Board of Directors of the Anthroposophical Society USA in addition to other Boards and Advisory Boards. He has been engaged in financial management and philanthropy over the last 20 years with individuals and foundations ih Europe and the USA. Mr. Pietzner lives in Dornach, Switzerland where he serves on the Executive Council of the General Anthroposophical Society as Treasurer.

At the university I mostly dealt with heat and general energy transmissions. Later, I continued researching this field of science at my first workplace, the Department of Nuclear Techniques of Central Research Institute for Physics of Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
